Wil Bazinet formed Plastecs Company as a fiber-optic company in 1970 after working at American Optical in Southbridge, Massachusetts for many years as a research engineer. He held many patents in fiber-optics and lasers.

A solarized fiber optic kit – unique!
The only solar/fiber-optic combination! This kit allows your display to stay lit up all night (not like other products that light up only 3-5 hours after sundown.) This kit makes a great project for kids in school. They can learn how fiber optics and solar work, both at the same time.
Now you can make your own display, or whatever you choose to light up, with the fiber optics and by using re-chargeable batteries with a solar panel, you can now have the display lit up all night, if you like, or you can put a switch in the line and light it up when you want to.
A new super bright led provides the lighting. the panel can re-charge the batteries even 20 feet or more away from the display so that the solar panel can be placed in a window getting the most sun, and the display can be distant from it ( extra wire not included ).
The led does not light during the day.

- SFOK-2 $54.95 each plus $14.00 for S&H in the USA. This kit has the same as the SFOK-1 kit except the fibers included are in coil form, each fiber is 9″ long and there are 100 fibers to the coil. This coil can be readily sprayed out into a 9″ diameter fiber optic spray or a three tiered fiber optic spray 8″ tall by 9″ in diameter.
No housing is included in either kit. Additional led’s can be added – up to 4. Each additional led is $5.00 extra.

Glass fiber optic image conduit (guide)
These conduits are fused glass fibers that are coherently arranged so that an image on one end is transmitted immediately to the other end. The conduit contains 50u ( 0.002″) fibers. The conduit is 3mm (0.125″) in diameter. 1 foot lengths are available. The ends are cleaved. Polished ends can be ordered at an additional cost.

Fused image conduit pack
This is an example of what can be done with fused bundles of fiber optics other than straight lengths. In this series of image conduits, we show that the fused bundles can be bent into many different shapes and still transmit an exact picture from one end to the other with no distortion. This is truly amazing to the novice who has never seen fiber optics before. It goes around 4 corners, can be inverted, can be rotated, and also magnified.
